Director
Dr Ian Mckenzie BSc, MBChB, PhD, DAvMed, DRCOG, Dip Pharm Med
After attaining a degree in Physics, Chemistry and Cell Biology Dr Mckenzie trained in Medicine at Auckland University, New Zealand. On qualifying in medicine he joined the Royal Air Force, training and specialising in Aviation Medicine. As part of his training as a specialist in Aviation Medicine he obtained a PhD in physiology from Imperial College, London, and completing his career with the appointment to Consultant status and Head of the Biomechanics Division at the Royal Air Force Institute of Aviation Medicine. During this largely research based career he worked in disciplines as varied as head injury, cardiovascular physiology, respiratory physiology, biomechanics and aircraft accident investigation.
Dr Mckenzie completed his RAF career with a period of retraining in General Practice. He followed this with a position with Pfizer Ltd at their Sandwich Laboratories. At Pfizer he worked in a series of roles of increasing responsibility, initially on the Eletriptan filing – working both on study design and conduct and interpreting and presenting data to the regulators. In parallel with this project he worked on a number of early phase products – leading the negotiations that led to a written request from the FDA for Viagra in pulmonary hypertension (now approved as Revatio), as well as projects in all stages of development covering hypertension, dermal scarring and headlice. He extended his career after eletriptan’s approval with a project management role with a remit covering the whole of Pfizer early development portfolio at Sandwich. In particular he supported projects in neuropathic pain and sexual health. As well as senior clinical roles he assumed the responsibility for signing CTXs and served as a director of the Pfizer UK pension fund.
Currently Dr Mckenzie works as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry, a General Practitioner at Pencester Surgery in Dover <link to page to be provided re Pencester surgery> and as an Air Crew Medical Examiner <Mach Med>

Mrs L E Mckenzie
The Company Secretary has an extensive background in acute medical care nursing and is currently employed part-time within the local acute care trust. She is currently studying at Christchurch University, Canterbury for an MSc in Interprofessional Health and Social Care.
